Kayaking, Hiking, and Climbing are a few of the activities we will schedule. A calender of OWAC events will be placed around town and at the schools. It is our goal to provide the residents of this area with options to get outside and enjoy one of the best parts of Mentone; nature!
Community Outreach projects will include river and neighborhood clean-ups, residential home repairs, and The Garden Initiative - where our volunteers will help put gardens in for anyone who is interested in growing their own food. We want to help make it possible for our neighbors to create positive change in the community.
Sustainable Workshops will be held monthly to help residents along the path of becoming more sustainable in their everyday lives. We will work on projects like Recycling, Reducing Waste, Passive Solar Water Heaters, Raising and Preserving food, rain water systems, and Conservation.
OWAC is excited to provide most of our activities for free or very little to members. Starting in March, folks will have the opportunity to become a member of our organization where special offers will apply.
So, get ready Mentone, this OWAC season is about to get seriously fun!!
